Friends of San Jose Family Camp is a volunteer organization dedicated to maintaining Family Camp for the enjoyment of all campers. The Friends are made up of campers with a love for the camp. These volunteers perform a variety of activities to ensure the ongoing sucess of camp. They support the City of San Jose in the operation of camp, perform major and minor repairs, raise funds for camp programs and equipment and promote the camp through word-of-mouth. |

The operation of Family Camp depends on the support of the Friends, and in particular the workparties
in April, May and June. This is when the Friends help get the camp ready
for the summer. These three workparties are family affairs with something
for everyone regardless of age or skills.

The Workparties are a fun and rewarding way for the whole family to enjoy Family Camp and spend a weekend working and playing with a group of really nice people like yourselves. Your participation at the Workparties is very important to the continued sucess and enjoyment of Family Camp for all that visit the camp every year. |

The Workparties for 2009 are May 15-17 and May 29-31. Check-in time starts in the afternoon Friday. Dinner will be served from 6:30 to 9:30 to accommodate the late arrivals. Work begins about 9am on Saturday and continues through 4-5pm with a break for lunch. Work finishes up on Sunday morning and the weekend ends with lunch on Sunday. The cost is $10.00 per person for the weekend. This includes dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and Sunday breakfast and lunch. Also included is the wine social before dinner on Saturday. |
